How we can help your business thrive

Business Support

Melton BID is here to support local businesses across Melton town centre, helping to reduce business costs, create new opportunities and strengthen our business community.

We work on behalf of BID levy payers to provide practical support that helps businesses save money, access useful information, build connections and make the most of opportunities available locally, regionally and nationally.

Our role is to champion Melton businesses, bring people together and ensure businesses are aware of the support, training, networking and funding opportunities that could benefit them.

Recycling Scheme

Melton BID’s recycling scheme is one of our most valued business support services, helping local businesses reduce costs while supporting a cleaner and more sustainable town centre.

The scheme is used by more than 250 businesses and removes over 200 tonnes of recycling from Melton each year. By working collectively, participating businesses reduce the need for individual recycling contracts, saving around £50,000 annually.

This practical service provides clear, measurable value for BID levy payers while helping businesses manage waste more responsibly.

Finding suitable premises

Melton BID supports businesses in the early stages of planning by helping them explore suitable premises within the town centre.

Through local knowledge, introductions and guidance, we can help businesses identify spaces that meet their needs and support their long-term plans.

This support helps new ventures establish a physical presence in Melton, contributing to a stronger and more varied town centre offer.

Business Forum in partnership with Melton Borough Council

Melton BID works in partnership with Melton Borough Council to deliver a quarterly Business Forum for local businesses.

The forum provides a regular platform for businesses to connect, share updates, discuss challenges and explore new ideas together.

It helps strengthen communication across the local business community while creating opportunities for collaboration and shared action.

Melton BID Hub

Melton BID delivers twice-weekly drop-in sessions, giving levy payers direct access to the BID Manager for support, guidance and advice.

The Hub provides a regular opportunity for businesses to raise questions, discuss challenges, share ideas and access practical help.

This creates a more accessible and responsive service, ensuring businesses can connect with the BID in a simple and direct way.

‘Elevate your business’ grants

Melton BID provides annual grants to support business improvement and growth across the town centre.

These grants offer targeted investment to help levy payers enhance their premises, improve visibility, develop new ideas or access support that strengthens their business.

By investing directly back into local businesses, the grant scheme helps create a stronger, more resilient and more attractive Melton.

Super Saturdays

Melton BID supports the weekly street market by helping bring local businesses into the market environment and adding family-friendly entertainment.

This helps strengthen the traditional market offer while giving BID businesses another valuable opportunity to promote themselves, reach new customers and increase visibility.

By connecting businesses, visitors and the wider town centre, the initiative supports footfall and helps create a more vibrant market experience.
